About Me

As Paramedics, we are so often reactive, but over the past 16 years I have come to the realization that to legitmize ourselves, as our colleagues in the Fire Service and Law Enforcement have, we must become PROACTIVE and attempt to educate and reduce injury.
My name is Josh Stuart.  Foremost, I am a family man with a wife and three kids, but professionally my title is Paramedic for Medical Rescue Team South Authority, in suburban Pittsburgh, PA.  I am also a Preceptor, a Child Passenger Seat Technician and a speaker on the dangers of Risky Teen Behaviors.  In 2006, I had the unfortunate experience of having to attend to a 14 year old who died while playing "The Choking Game" at which time I decided to educate my peers in the Emergency Medical Services, fellow parents and children to the dangers that these teens are imposing on themselves.
With the help of Officer Scott MethenyTwp,  of Upper Moreland PA, Dr. Kristen Seaman, Chief Todd Pritchard, and the staff of Medical Rescue Team South Authority, I began this endeavor and began teaching about "THE CHOKING GAME". Shortly thereafter I began to develop my own curriculum addressing Risky Teen Behavior not routinely addressed by D.A.R.E. or other prevention programs.
My name is Josh Stuart.  I am married to my awesome wife, Maggie.  She is a teacher and my personal educator.  We have three wonderful children, Moira - our thinker, poet and future surgeon (at least for the moment), Brigid - comedian, empathetic artist and Zeke - our little man, full of animal facts, future zookeeper and creator.
