Welcome to Medic Josh's Risky Teen Behavior Prevention  I have been in EMS for 16 years, 13 of which functioning as a Paramedic. For the past 5 years I have been a Child Passenger Safety Technician. In the winter of 2006, I had the unfortunate obligation to respond to a cardiac arrest of a 14 year old. As a father, I searched for information on this type of activity and was unable to find anything but scant mentioning in psychological journals. I felt helpless and decided to attempt to become more proactive and with the help of , I developed a program for EMS addressing the . With the close similarities to suicide, drug abuse and self-injurious behaviors, I was asked many questions which lead to research about which are often not covered by D.A.R.E., school health programs, or EMS educational programs. | WHY SHOULD PARENTS TAKE A LOOK AT THIS SITE?  In this new millenium, kids are trying to be adults much to early, but without understanding the consequences. These same kids, know more about these Risky Teen Behaviors than we as adults could ever guess. It's not just about sneaking some beer and pot anymore. And we as adults need to know what to look for.
IF WE CONVINCE JUST ONE CHILD NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE BEHAVIORS, THAT CHILD MAY SAVE THE WORLD IN THE FUTURE.
Consider what your child might achieve ten years from now. Now consider what your child may look like in their casket or on a ventilator!
